A very pretty annual that self sows readily. Careful where you plant though as the seeds have tendency to stick to anything that brushes against them.

Once a member of the Corydalis family. Wonderful for the rock garden with airy foliage. Blooms all summer and will withstand some frost. The easiest way to start this is to sow direct where you want it to grow, in the fall or early spring. Self sows readily.

I've found that for best germination results, start outdoors (cold frame) early spring. Treat as an annual but have had this survive our Zone 3 winters for up to 3 years. Seems to do better if there is good snow cover. Will sprawl about wherever you plant it, would look great trailing over the edge of a raised bed.

Eschscholzia Californica - California Poppy
It's been a number of years since we've grown this in the garden. I had come across some old seed, from 2003 I believe, tossed it out in the rock garden to see what it would do, and it grew! Such wonderful colors of soft orange, red and cream.

Omphalodes linifolia 'Hails of Spain'
An elegant, airy annual. Covered with petite, star shaped white flowers over silvery-green foliage. Grow in masses in a dark area of the garden, the effect is beautiful. Does well in pots. Will bloom until first hard frost, will also self seed.
