Aconitum septentrionale 'Ivorine'
This is a stunning monkshood with crisp white blooms. Best started in a cold frame in the fall, sow in a pot and then cover with a layer of grit. Deer resistant, of course, as all parts of monkshood are highly poisonous.

I did not manage to get a good picture of the flower itself which resembled a pink granny bonnet type, but what was really outstanding on this particular aquilegia was the foliage. A wonderful light green with purple blotches or spots on the leafs. Simply outstanding just for the foliage.

Aquilegia #21
This particular columbine grows in almost full shade with about 1 hour of late evening sun. It is a massive plant and at it's peak was bending over from the weight of the flowers. I stopped counting at 80 blooms! A delicate soft pink on the medium length spurs fading to a creamy white. An incredible aquilegia!

Aquilegia ex longissima
Originally purchased as Aquilegia longissima, however, it does not fit the description per Bob Nold's 'Columbines' book. The spur length was not a minimum of 90mm. Still very worthy of the garden. A nice compact mound with a long season of bloom, lasting well into the fall months.

Clematis ternifolia (possibly)
Clematis are another favorite here at Beautiful Blooms and over the years we've managed to collect quite a few. Not all seed, not all produce viable seed, but this one does! Still haven't narrowed down the exact name but we are working on it. It very much resembles Sweet Autumn Clematis but have yet to confirm. It comes true from seed and should bloom second to third year after germination. Note: this is a climber.

This is a South African native plant, and it survives in Okotoks, Zone 3! We have it in the front rock garden where it gets full hot afternoon sun and has excellent drainage. Very cool plant!

We have had this delphinium for over 14 years. It has survived several moves over those years and has always come back strong. One would think it was D. grandiflorum except for its longevity. It is without a doubt my favorite delphinium and I hope it survives another 14 years.

Delphinium - Linda's Blue
This is the result of some of our own hybridizing, what will result from this batch of seed will be most interesting. I was very impressed with this plant, leaves twice the size of my hand, a rich dark green, the stalks strong and able to carry the weight of its heavy spikes of flowers.
